Job Description:

At Regions, the Software Engineer oversees application development, modification, and maintenance of applications. This position monitors system applications, ensures systems run smoothly, and creates reports and other documentation outlining findings/solutions. This position sits within Regions' Technology department.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversees development and installation of new hardware and software

  • Installs and configures systems and other software

  • Tests installed software for malfunction detection

  • Identifies and resolves business systems issues

  • Designs and deploys new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operation systems

  • Measures effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems

  • Develops and implements strategies to improve systems

  • Monitors and tests system performance

  • Typically has full ownership of a process

  • May act as a procedural expert

  • May lead the work of junior level associates

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field

  • Five (5) years of experience

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to collaborate with programmers, developers, and other technology professionals to achieve a common objective

  • Ability to conduct system analysis to detect issues with performance

  • Ability to develop and implement technology solutions to resolve technical challenges

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Knowledge of software testing techniques, code optimization and software debugging

  • Strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills

  • Strong executional capabilities

  • Thorough understanding of software structures, hardware, computing systems and how to integrate them

  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to determine the requirements and goals for the SecOps solution, including its Vulnerability Response and Application Vulnerability Response modules.

  • Develop, enhance, and support scalable, robust ServiceNow SecOps solution focusing on Vulnerability Response and Application Vulnerability Response.

  • Design and develop integrations with external systems like vulnerability scanners, ticketing systems.

  • Collaborate with Support Engineer to triage and diagnose issues and implement appropriate resolutions.

  • Implement the design by configuring and customizing the ServiceNow platform, following best practices.

  • Coordinate with QA and end user teams to facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring the solution meets the specified requirements.

  • Prepare high-quality documentation including design, data models process flows and job aids.

  • Identify opportunities to optimize the performance of the ServiceNow SecOps applications for optimal performance and scalability.

  • Responsible for sprint demos, delivery of additional development artifacts and documentation, and knowledge transfer activities as required.

  • Coordinate and assist the OCM team in organizational change management process for rollouts and updates.

  • Monitoring and Feedback: Monitor the implementation and adjust as needed based on performance and user feedback.

  • Ensure compliance with industry and data security development standards.

  • Configuration and administration experience with the ServiceNow ITSM modules (Incident, Change, Problem, CMDB, Knowledge, and Employee Center) is preferred.

  • Experience with VRM specific functions including the following: inclusion rules, assignment rules, VIT assignment, and remediation tasks.

  • Experience with VRM specific integrations including: Qualys, Rapid7, and NVD

  • Experience with building client scripts, business rules, UI policies and UI actions.

  • Ability to create, modify and migrate local update sets between environments.

  • Ability to create/modify list views, queries, reports, and dashboards in ServiceNow.

  • Broad ServiceNow knowledge and ability to perform configuration and administration in other areas/modules outside of ITSM in the NOW platform is a plus.

  • Creating ServiceNow API calls to both retrieve and post information from other systems.

  • Prior experience working on an Agile Development Team.

This position must be within a reasonable driving distance to a Branch, Consumer Operations, or Professional Office Building with the location being for Birmingham, AL, Nashville, TN, Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC, Dallas TX, Denver CO, Houston TX, Orlando FL, Salt Lake City UT, Tampa FL . Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. Exceptions to the geographic location requirement may be made for current Regions associates who work remotely.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
