Summary

The Security Manager is responsible for the safety and security of the organizations’ employees, clients, visitors and property. Activities include: Conducting loss prevention assessments, including identifying and characterizing potential risks, developing processes and procedures to report on, manage and mitigate loss and security risks to acceptable levels, overseeing and conducting security activities, including controlling entry and exit to the organization's premises and safeguarding facilities, equipment, materials and employee property.

This position will support our Freeman HQ location. The position follows an in-person schedule working full-time in-office and/or show-site based out of Dallas, TX.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Have knowledge and understanding of the daily operation of the Access Control System Program, which includes the following: (currently being operated by facilities personnel)

  • Produce and distribute Employee ID Photo Badges and Building Proximity Access Cards.

  • Maintain daily record of assigned access badges and access cards.

  • Conduct monthly inventory of access badges and access cards. Record and report findings of inventory.

  • Maintain and monitor access control badging system equipment. Immediately report any damages and/or failure of equipment operations.

  • Responsible for Office Key Program. Produce and distribute office/room keys to the appropriate personnel. Maintain daily record.

  • Conduct monthly key inventory. Record and report findings.

  • Responsible for the daily operation of Surveillance Camera System, which includes the following:

  • Maintain and monitor all surveillance cameras, NVR/DVR, monitors and any other surveillance system equipment. Immediately report any failure and/or damages to equipment.

  • Monitor live video on a regular basis. Retrieve recorded video for investigations when required. Maintain record for video requests.

  • Conduct monthly testing of surveillance system equipment. Immediately report any failures and/or damages.

  • Assist with corporate investigations in gathering recorded video surveillance footage, when required.

  • Provide assistance to guests, visitors, vendors, clients and Freeman Corporate Executives, when needed.

  • Respond to calls for service and provide assistance, when requested. i.e. Medical, Emergency, Office lock-out, etc.

  • Notify on-duty Building Security personnel, when required.

  • Provide HQ Receptionist and Mail Room tasks at times, when needed.

  • Conduct physical observations of Freeman leased areas and floors.

  • Report any safety hazards or security related concerns/issues to the Freeman Senior Manager of Facilities, Property Manager, On-Duty Building Security Personnel or Senior Director, Corporate Security.

  • Seek physical security equipment vendors and work with Procurement in creating RFP’s.

  • Provide safety and security tips and warnings to Freeman employees and visitors, as needed.

  • Conduct training pertaining to safety and security matters.

  • Maintain First Aid/AED/CPR Certification.

  • Maintain inventory of first aid supplies and first aid kits.

  • Maintain inventory of emergency equipment and materials. I.e. flashlights, batteries, safety equipment/safety vests, PA system (bullhorn), evacuation chair, wheelchair, auto booster cables, “Emergency To Go Bags” for law enforcement/first responders and leased floors drawings.

  • Assist with the coordination of In-Person Active Shooter Preparedness Training and other safety/security training initiatives at Freeman locations throughout the US.

  • Assigned to Risk Management/Corporate Security and report directly to Senior Director, Corporate Security and/or his designee.

  • Assist with official investigations as requested.

  • Have an understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods and technologies, and be able to develop ways to helpful use.

  • Assist Freeman Branch locations and travel to various shows at times for support during move-in and move-out periods, when requested.

  • Build and maintain relationships within private security companies, law enforcement, convention centers and event venues public safety management personnel. Develop resources and referrals for Freeman clients and internal staff for show related security needs.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent or Certificate of Completion or Equivalent in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement, Business/Administration Management, Military Services, Security Management or Emergency Management required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Former Law Enforcement/Military experience.

  • Five years of safety and/or security experience.

  • Five years of supervisory experience.

  • Knowledge of operating physical security equipment and access control system in a commercial/office or government environment.

  • Strong understanding of industry best practices, guidelines and standards.

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare, train and exercise staff for actual emergencies.

  • Ability to travel out of State for multiple days.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in emergency situations.

  • Proficient with standard MS Office

  • Familiarity with use of an Emergency Notification System preferred.

  • Excellent communications skills, oral and written.

  • Possess valid driver’s license.

  • Able to work Mon - Fri and be on call after hours

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Completion of a recognized security certification (i.e. ASIS-GSX CPP, ASIS-GSX PSP) preferred

  • Security Guard Card (State of Texas) Preferred
