Allied Universal® Technology Services is hiring a Payroll Specialist. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing for Allied Universal Technology Services, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payroll cycles, and maintaining compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations. The Payroll Specialist responds to employee inquiries and addresses all payroll related issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Payroll Processing:
Review and report hours for the weekly, bi-weekly and union payroll cycles for approximately 1,100 employees
Process and log all payroll adjustments, including retroactive pay, missed hours, bonuses, etc.
Review and submit employee direct deposit and tax changes
Research and respond to all inquiries regarding missed hours and incorrect pay
Submit payroll corrections for missed hours and/or incorrect pay for hourly employees
Review new hire set-up in the payroll system including location, job number, pay frequency, etc.
Review AUTS employee report each day for any changes made to employee data
Compliance and Reporting:
Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll tax laws, wage and hour laws, and regulations
Ensure compliance with internal and external payroll audit requirements
Employee Support:
Address employee inquiries and concerns related to payroll, including pay discrepancies and deductions
Assist in resolving payroll discrepancies and disputes, and work to ensure employee satisfaction
Process Improvement:
Identify areas for process improvement and suggest enhancements to streamline payroll procedures
Work alongside Compensation Manager, IT, and Business Intelligence to implement process improvements
Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess one of the following:
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study
High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in payroll or compensation
Minimum of three (3) minimum years of experience in payroll or compensation
Highly proficient and fully functional in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel, and able to effectively utilize all available office management technology
Ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization, while functioning as a team player
Proven ability to maintain correspondence, discussions, and materials with strict discretion
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
SAP experience
Certified Payroll Experience
Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study
Relevant Payroll or Compensation certifications
