Description

We are working with a law firm client seeking a skilled Real Estate Paralegal to become a dedicated member of their team based in Dallas, Texas. The successful candidate will play a critical role in securing land leases for brick and mortar retail stores and will work under the supervision of the supervising attorney(s) to provide support to the Corporate Real Estate practice group on transactional matters. This role expects the successful applicant to effectively manage client tasks, draft documents, and work under the direct supervision of attorneys.

Responsibilities:

• Review and organize client records to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.

• Prepare and manage communication between parties, such as client and title companies, lenders, surveyors, appraisers, etc.

• Assist in the preparation of comprehensive and detailed title and survey objections.

• Generate and review closing documents, including settlement agreements.

• Assist with the creation of lease abstracts.

• Maintain electronic and hard copy matter files in line with firm procedures to ensure easy retrieval of information.

• Assist with and/or attend client meetings as assigned, ensuring professional representation of the firm.

• Draft and coordinate execution of commercial contracts and leases under attorney oversight.

Requirements

• Paralegal Certificate or Degree preferred

• Knowledge of Commercial Real Estate including Lease Abstracts, Lease Agreements, Lease Contracts, and Lease Terms

• 5+ years experience working as a Real Estate paralegal

• Familiarity with Preliminary Title Reports and Title Opinions

• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, LexisNexis, and Microsoft Office Suite of programs

• Strong legal writing skills

• Experience with Document Management and Time/Billing programs such as iManage and Elite
