Summary

We are in search of a Lead Data Engineer with proficiency in the Microsoft data warehouse stack, encompassing both Azure and on-premises. The successful candidate will be self-reliant, capable of working effectively with business teams, and dedicated to establishing best practices for data and data sets.

This position will support our IT team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in office 1-2 days per week. The ideal candidate will be located in Dallas, TX.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Data Engineering: You will design, develop, and maintain dependable data pipelines that align with business needs.

  • Data Optimization: You will enhance data pipelines for performance and scalability, utilizing best practices in data engineering.

  • Data Monitoring: You will oversee data pipelines, ensuring their seamless operation and resolving any issues that occur.

  • Collaboration with Business Teams: You will collaborate with various business teams to comprehend their data requirements and provide them with insightful data.

  • Technical Leadership: As a lead, you will provide technical guidance in the area of data engineering and the Microsoft data warehouse stack.

  • Best Data Practices: You will institute and enforce best practices for data management, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.

Education & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.

  • In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft data warehouse stack, both Azure and on-premises.

  • Experience in constructing and optimizing data pipelines.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and be self-reliant.

  • Eagerness to learn and understand business processes.

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in processing data from streaming, real-time, and batch sources using Azure technologies.

  • Batch, real-time and Event processing, Databricks, Spark, ADF, Logicapps, Event Hub, AZ SQLDB, AZ Functions, Power BI, SSIS, CI/CD, Azure Pipelines.

  • Expertise in Azure Databricks, including Delta Live Tables and Unity Catalog.

  • Proficiency in streaming technologies, specifically Azure Event Grid and Event Hub.

  • Expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).

  • Solid understanding of batch, real-time, and event processing.

  • Familiarity with Azure SQL Database (AZ SQLDB).

  • Experience with Azure Functions and Logic Apps.

  • Proficiency in CI/CD practices and tools, particularly Azure Pipelines.
