and motivated individual to fill the position of Health, Environmental, Safety, and Security (HES&S) Data Analyst within our OxyChem Corporate HES&S team based in Dallas, TX.

The HES&S Data Analyst will support Corporate HES&S data management systems' design, implementation, and sustainment.  This position will provide end user support for the OCC HES&S data management information systems and reporting tools.   

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead OxyChem HES&S data management information system initiatives and drive continuous improvement of existing HES&S processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with HES&S functional leaders at the Corporate and Plant level to understand their business needs in analyzing data to make better informed decisions while using new innovative digital technologies.
  • Assemble and analyze Health, Environmental, Safety, Security, Process Safety, Product Stewardship, Medical and Compliance Assurance data to identify appropriate metrics, trends, and exceptions to compete at world class HES&S performance.
  • Design, implement, validate, and sustain HES&S metrics dashboards utilizing Power BI.
  • Lead demonstrations of new functionality within HES&S information systems and processes.
  • Train end-users of the functionality of HES&S information systems and processes.
  • Implement the Oxy Task Information System (OTIS) at the OxyChem corporate office to manage recurring HES&S tasks.
  • Support project Polaris implementation for the corporate HES&S staff.
  • Participate in OCC data governance creation and initiatives. 
  • Design, implement, and sustain HES&S processes in the various software systems such as Articulate, Intelex, OTIS, OxyODS, etc.
  • Develop and implement digital log sheets using TrueContext.
  • Provide validated and verified ad hoc HES&S Intelex data requests.
  • Participate in OPC HSE information system enhancements, bug fixes, and operational data storage (ODS) integrations.
  • Interact with OPC HES&S data advisors and systems to ensure consistence of HSE data collection and analysis.
  • Maintain and update SharePoint sites related to HES&S.
  • Accurately input audit data into Intelex and distribute audit report to OPC.

      Qualifications

      Required Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, environmental sciences or related field
      • Experience supporting HES&S functional areas is highly desirable.
      • Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and SharePoint) and SAP.
      • Experience in database design (MS Access, Oracle, SQL) with expertise in building user interfaces and reports.
      • Experience with business intelligence tools such as PowerBI, Spotfire, Tableau, etc.
      • Experience supporting HSE management software, such as Sphera, Intelex, or Enablon.
      • Ability to assemble data and analyze trends and exceptions to improve HES&S management systems and performance.
