Bank OZK AVP Data and Quality Assurance in Dallas, Texas

Job Purpose & Scope

Responsible for providing coordination of data quality assurance processes and overseeing change management activities to deliver enhancements into OZK’s Data Platform. Assigns day-to-day quality assurance activities for team members while coordinating with OZK Information Technology to deliver solutions into the production environment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Ensures successful delivery of data improvements into production environment while demonstrating contextual understanding of business data sets during quality assurance activities.

  • Directs, creates, and performs quality assurance of pre-production data asset releases including, but not limited to, SSRS reports, Power BI reports, SSIS packages, data model changes and cube enhancements.

  • Adheres to OZK Change Management Standards.

  • Defines Quality Assurance testing processes and tools to support OZK Change Management requirements.

  • Provides day-to-day guidance and staff development to the team and junior staff.

  • Writes and analyzes SQL queries to analyze data issues in production and propose technical fixes to resolve issues.

  • Analyzes database objects (i.e., stored procedures, triggers, functions) to extrapolate business logic and documentation to support quality assurance activities.

  • Coordinates or maintains as-built documentation as enhancements to the production environment are delivered.

  • Coordinates as needed with Bank resources for sufficient test script development and completion sign-off.

  • Develops an understanding of Bank applications and their respective roles in generating data and the subsequent utilization of data in downstream bank data assets.

  • Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of bank data assets and enabling technologies.

  • Supports the Bank’s Data Governance processes.

  • Builds and maintains rapport with key business and technology colleagues.

  • May lead and supervise other related positions.

  • Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions.

  • Maintains good punctuality, attentiveness and attendance at work.

  • Follows Bank policy, procedures and guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of data warehousing and relational database concepts.

  • Knowledge of SQL to be able to analyze pre- and post-product releases of SQL views, stored procedures, table structures, SSRS reports or Power BI dashboards.

  • Knowledge of banking regulations.

  • Knowledge of commercial real estate and/or commercial lending, or ability and desire to learn.

  • Ability to communicate effective both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once, multi-task, with exacting deadlines.

  • Ability to demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail.

  • Ability to exhibit sound and accurate judgment.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in job-related field, or commensurate work experience, required.

  • 5+ years of work experience in data analysis, testing and/or quality assurance within data warehouse, data mart, or analytical environments, required.

  • 4+ years of experience with Agile development and quality assurance testing methodologies, required.

  • Prior commercial banking or real estate industry experience, preferred.

  • Prior experience in leading or managing a team, preferred.
