We’re looking for an exceptional Program Manager who is passionate about Apple’s product and values; who loves working with infrastructure technologies at scale; and who are committed to the hard work necessary to continuously improve. This is a highly technical position where the Program Manager will be responsible for infrastructure planning and delivery with an eye toward improving economics. We’re looking for people with a proven track record of infrastructure planning for high-quality global service under demanding usage that supports millions of users every day.

Description

  • Work closely with Engineering, Operations, and Product teams in support of projects to scale cloud infrastructure and ensure responsible resource allocation and on-budget delivery. - Drive resource allocation projects that bring clarity on service use and help define unit economics frameworks. Facilitate discussion across product teams to ensure alignment on use of infrastructure resources. - Drive projects originating from the AI/ML Siri and Search Engineering teams which include cloud optimizations, observability through analytics and telemetry, client to server communications, platform scaling, and continuous integration of Open Source technologies. - Support projects originating from Device Lab teams involving supply-demand planning, constraint modeling, defining utilization-based unit economics, and operationalization of planning constructs. - Support projects involving traffic capacity planning factoring in growth in AI/ML workloads and optimization roadmaps. - Drive comprehensive and real-time analytics and reporting on key operational measurements for capacity use. Lead cross-functional discussions to surface actionable trade-offs on cost, quality, performance, capacity, and reliability. Use that data to drive good priority and resourcing decisions. - Build operational rigor to communicate progress and call to action on key budget OKRs with appropriate teams and leadership; both org-level updates and exec-level status. - Build relationships across the organization and facilitate communication between cross-divisional groups. - Work across all AI/ML teams to promote a culture of better operational planning.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Product and/or Program management, or Business Analysis, or a related role with experience covering.

  • Strong technical experience with cloud infrastructure and large scale systems. Bonus points for past roles with Engineering partnering and support experience.

  • Career examples of hands-on involvement in delivering robust operational plans and budgets.

  • Self-motivated, independent, and proactive; demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities; can quickly (realtime) triage, prioritize, and lead cross-functional teams under pressure.

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, written and verbal, to all levels of an organization. High operational precision and attention to detail.

  • Innate drive to improve how things work, with proven track record of driving dramatic improvements for team quality, performance, agility, or effectiveness.

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $160,700 and $282,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
