Product Release Engineer
Job Description
The Product Release Engineer supports all aspects of the product lifecycle, including design, testing, industrialization, vendor qualification, and sustainment engineering. This role assists the department manager in guiding day-to-day activities for product engineers and technical writers and serves as the primary individual accountable for documentation technical accuracy and adherence to organizational standards. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential due to the amount of cross-department coordination necessary for successful product launches and maintenance.
Responsibilities
Manage and maintain all technical documentation and engineering change requests.
Guide and oversee day-to-day activities for product engineers and technical writers.
Ensure technical accuracy and adherence to organizational standards in documentation.
Collaborate with other department heads, managers, suppliers, and customers.
Lead and critique the work of others, providing clear and tactful feedback through discussions and documented mark-ups (redlines).
Support product development and lifecycle management, including mechanical and electrical product launches.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings involving both electrical and mechanical designs.
Knowledge and/or experience in using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
Knowledge and/or experience in using ERP software and managing product data (Sage 100 preferred).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college/university. Other related fields may be applicable based on experience.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment.
Experience working with PCBAs, sheet metal, and wiring harnesses.
Experience in managing Engineering Change Control.
Basic knowledge and/or experience with AC/DC circuit concepts and applications.
Work Environment
The employee is regularly required to sit and occasionally required to climb, kneel, crouch, or crawl. There may be occasional assistance needed with physical labor-related tasks, requiring basic knowledge and/or experience in operating mechanics and power tools. Vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Regular hours are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday; however, additional hours may be required. Regular and punctual attendance is necessary. The employee may occasionally be asked to travel to support customer needs.
