Cuyuna Regional Medical Center * Radiology Crosby, MN Clinical & Technical Casual, Varied - 8 & 12 hour shifts FTE: Union Casual - minimum 3 shifts per month including 1 weekend shift Weekend Requirements: Every 5th weekend Posted 08/08/2024 Req # 13346 POSITION SUMMARY X-ray Operators perform limited diagnostic general x-ray procedures as ordered in accordance with procedure protocols defined by the Radiologists. X-ray Operators must continually strive to provide the highest level of care for the patients/residents of the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center. They must perform alongside other members of the health care team toward the achievement of the goals of Cuyuna Regional Medical Center. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: High school graduate or equivalent. License/Certificates: Must have passed the state of Minnesota X-ray Operator's examination. American Heart Association BLS within 30 days of hire. Special Skills and Aptitudes: Effective interpersonal relationship skills including good listening and communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively in variety of settings and with a variety of people at different organization levels. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and appropriately. Ability to adapt resources to meet the needs of critical imaging situations. Ability to perform limited general x-ray procedures and operate radiographic equipment. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Performs general x-ray procedures as outlined in the department policy and procedure manual. Documents clinical information on order requisition prior to radiologist interpretation. Assists physicians, nursing staff and patients in scheduling and preparation for procedures. Performs duties in accordance with the hospital and department policies and procedures. Demonstrates resourcefulness in addressing patient emergency situations. Practices and maintains high ethical standards including resident/patient confidentiality. Upholds and supports established Medical Center mission, goals and policies. Performs clerical work to maintain accurate records. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of the department. Organizes and performs work as priorities dictate. Participates in departmental meetings, in-services and continuing education programs. Assures adequate supply inventories for assigned work areas. Completes job tasks for specific shifts.
