Cuyuna Regional Medical Center * Ambulance Service Crosby, MN Management Full Time, Professional FTE: 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period) Weekend Requirements: No weekends Posted 06/25/2024 Req # 13258 POSITION SUMMARY The Ambulance Service Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Ambulance Service department. The Manager will possess excellent clinical skills and demonstrate appropriate personality and desire for additional leadership/supervisory responsibility. The Manager will assist with: development of policy and procedure; hiring; teaching/orienting/coaching; remediation, discipline, evaluating personnel performance; and equipment evaluation and selection. This individual will also be responsible for keeping team members abreast of current technology and service requirements. In addition, the manager will be accountable for compliance with all pertinent EMSRB standards, and local, state, and federal regulations. Continuing education is a high priority. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited paramedic training program. Certified in the State of Minnesota with National Registration preferred. BLS and ACLS Provider or Instructor-Level Certification required. Previous experience in EMA and managing an EMS department preferred. A combination of inpatient and community based experience preferred. Training or experience in epidemiology, community health, and occupational health and safety preferred. Previous experience in EMS and managing an EMS department preferred. License/Certificates: MN Paramedic License. Certification in state of Minnesota required. BLS and ACLS provider or instructor level certification required. Certification with the national registration preferred. PALS and NRP within 4 months of hire (Provider and Instructor level certification). Valid Minnesota Driver's License required. Special Skills and Aptitudes: Must have strong leadership, communication, and problem solving skills. Effective interpersonal relationship skills including good listening and communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of settings and with a wide variety of people and different organizational levels. Ability to develop effective relationships with various stakeholders. Ability to effectively supervise employees. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and appropriately. Ability to develop and implement plans for program/department operations. Ability to adapt resources to meet the needs of the situation. Ability to properly operate all equipment required for this position. Ability to provide patient care if needed. Ability to read maps and find locations in the service area. Ability to work under stressful conditions. Knowledge and skills of the principles and practices of ALS level EMS. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrate financial responsibility for profit/loss of their department, considering overall financial health of the medical campus. Generate alliances with internal and external partners to enable the medical center to supply appropriate products and services to customers. Consistently support and enforce the medical center guiding principles and operating policies. Responsible for creating and fostering strong, effective professional relationships with key customers (i.e. physicians, community leaders). Responsible for performance management which involves assisting employees in using their skills, ambitions, knowledge and abilities, while helping to provide appropriate opportunities for professional growth and career advancement (demonstrated through timely and meaningful appraisals, ensuring accountability and encouraging education etc.). Maintain expertise in area of responsibility and remain current on industry/profession practice and trends. Supervise productivity and efficiency of department employees to meet Medical Center standards. Maintain department in accordance with State, Local, and Federal guidelines. Maintain s aff development and training including orientation of new staff. Plan for efficient operation, as well as progressive and innovative implementation of the service. Serve as a primary resource for facility-wide emergency services training.
