We’re looking for a Project Manager to join our dynamic and collaborative central team in XPO Logistics to support companywide projects as we go through some exciting changes and developments.

We’re looking to bring someone in on a permanent basis to lead a wide range of projects including new warehouse and transport operations start-ups. You will be responsible for establishing a sound foundation for the project from onset to deployment by ensuring that there is a clear understanding of scope, deliverables, approach, and critical success factors to achieve project objectives for the client and operational teams.

This is a field-based role; requiring flexibility to travel frequently to client and operational locations, as well as the Crick head office for project meetings. Therefore, the role also qualifies for the company car scheme. While managing your own diary and utilising the benefits of Microsoft teams meetings there will also be the opportunity to work from home or local sites.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Lead and manage a variety of projects from operational continuous improvement to new client business wins, TUPE’s and new warehouse & transport operations set-up.

• Update a variety of senior stakeholders on project progress and accountability for project timelines and spend.

• Manage project schedules using tracking charts, checklists, and project scheduling software.

• Document all data and analytics throughout the project life cycle.

• Managing Risks, Issues and Project Scope & Deliverables

• Coordinating, motivating, and supporting Workstream leads and operationalresources to achieve project objectives through task progression and completion.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

• Essential: A minimum 3-5 years’ experience within a logistics projects team.

• Essential: Experience in whole project lifecycle delivery, ideally with in the warehouse, transport or supply chain arena.

• Essential: The ability to manage people well (workstream leads) to complete projected deliverables on time.

• Essential: A Prince2 or similar professional qualification.

• Essential: Effective risk management and contingency planning to mitigate project risks identified.

• Essential: Excellent communication skills. Adaptable, Assertive, collaborative, and resilient.

• Essential: Analytical with high attention to detail. Structured and methodical.

• Essential: Have the ability to build a strong team and enjoy working as part of a team

• Beneficial: Have a track record in transition of, and the onboarding of new business to warehouses.

• Beneficial: The ability to engage with various stakeholders including senior management and executive stakeholders of the client and business.
