Crested Butte Lift Maintenance team is looking for a forward thinking and motivated leader to lead our team of mechanics and electricians in performing all facets of maintenance on our system of lifts. The Lift Maintenance Supervisor responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervisory position for a team of mechanical and electrical technicians

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities. Excellent time management and organizational skills are required

  • Responsible for hiring and team scheduling, performance management and evaluation

  • Responsible for planning of scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency maintenance and repairs

  • Fulfills day-to-day work responsibilities for the department as needed

  • Exhibits the highest level of expertise in all areas

  • Creates, leads, and documents training for the team

  • Responsible for following the Vail Resort’s Health and Safety and Crested Butte Lift Maintenance policies and procedures

  • Responsible for performing all routine and assigned maintenance procedures under the guidance of Lift Maintenance Manager/Director

  • Responsible for documenting all information of work performed on lifts and submitting to Lift Dispatch in a timely manner

  • Responsible for assuring that the Maintenance Manager, Director, and Dispatch is immediately informed and consulted on all abnormal or unusual conditions, incidents observations or system malfunctions

  • Must be able to work in a variety of environmental conditions

  • Responsible for assisting with Capital Project forecasting and planning

  • Responsible for assisting with the inventory and ordering of lift parts and operational supplies

  • Responsible for the upkeep of shop equipment, tools, and facilities

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Degree, or equivalent - required

  • Must have at least 5 years of mechanical or electrical experience - required

  • At least 2 years leadership / supervisory experience – strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of PLC and industrial controls – strongly preferred

  • Proficient with all types of hand and power tools as well as shop equipment – required

  • Proficient in hydraulic system troubleshooting and component replacement – required

  • Magnetic particle, ultrasonic, or other non-destructive testing experience – required

  • Must have a valid driver's license – required

  • Must be computer proficient - required

  • Fluent in oral and written English - required

  • Must be able to work at heights up to 100 Feet - required

  • Excellent knowledge of hydraulics, rigging, and troubleshooting skills - highly preferred

  • Able to work in a variety of outdoor mountain weather conditions – required

  • Must be able to work Holidays/Weekends/Evenings - required

  • Must be able to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level - required

The expected pay range is $61,000 - $80,000. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
