Mechanical Reliability Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and hands-on Entry-Level Mechanic Reliability Engineer to join our team at a leading recycled paper mill. In this role, you will assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining reliability and maintenance strategies for our mechanical equipment and systems. You will help ensure continuous and efficient operation, minimizing downtime and optimizing performance.

This is an ideal position for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to grow their expertise in mechanical engineering and reliability within a dynamic, environmentally sustainable industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the analysis of equipment reliability data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.

  • Support root cause failure analysis (RCFA) for equipment failures and develop action plans to prevent recurrence.

  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to improve preventive and predictive maintenance processes.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs.

  • Assist in creating and maintaining equipment maintenance documentation, including standard operating procedures and manuals.

  • Participate in the inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment, including pumps, motors, conveyors, and paper-making machinery.

  • Support the collection and analysis of vibration, lubrication, and thermal data to predict equipment failure.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to optimize spare parts management and inventory control.

  • Help implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall reliability and efficiency of the mill.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor\u2019s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: Internship or co-op experience in a paper mill is preferred.

  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, rotating equipment, and reliability principles.

  • Familiarity with reliability tools such as RCFA, FMEA, A3 and predictive maintenance techniques is a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to present technical information clearly.
