Location
This position is based in the vibrant Cincinnati area. Our offices overlook the spectacular Cincinnati skyline and are within walking distance to downtown shopping, shopping malls, restaurants, entertainment, waterfront parks, major league sporting venues and are less than a 20-minute drive to an international airport.
Position
We are seeking an experienced product design engineer interested in supporting the development of highly advanced wearable computer systems being developed under a multi-year project funded by the National Institutes of Health. Enthusiasm and the ability to participate in a small team to solve interesting and complex problems is a must. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have a background in industrial engineering and design, electrical engineering and/or mechatronics. In this position you will design ultra-compact, low power systems and devices containing sensor arrays, activity tracking and voice processing capabilities. Enthusiasm and the ability to participate in a small-team environment in order to solve interesting and complex problems is a must.
Required
At least 4 years of industry experience in consumer product development.
At least 3 years experience with 3D design software.
At least 2 years experience with additive manufacturing technology.
Self-starter motivated to design well engineered components and systems.
Ability to demonstrate entrepreneurial thinking, innovation, and real-world problem solving.
Ability to work hands-on with systems and components in an R&D setting.
Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work both individually and as a team member.
A minimum of a B.S. in Design, Industrial Design, Design Engineering or equivalent.
Highly Desirable·
Industry experience in designing and developing wearable computer systems.
Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new concepts.
Experience developing bio-medical hardware/software systems.
Working towards M.S. or PhD. in Design, Industrial Design, Design Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent.
