Maintenance Specialist

Holtec Decommissioning International (HDI) is currently seeking a Maintenance Specialist to join the Palisades Nuclear Plant team in Covert, MI.

JOB SUMMARY/ PURPOSE

Performs project cost and cash flow forecast. Supervises the project planning, installation, and inspection activities. Assist and guide the site through the procedure process when preparing new procedures or changing existing procedures.

JOB DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates and schedule Vendor support as needed.

  • Develops and maintains tools to improve the efficiency of performing project work.          

  • Reviews and evaluates performance of the project staff and contractors.

  • Oversees procedures and documentation which govern and control project activities.

  • Recommends necessary project training as required.                                                          

  • Proposes project changes which improve efficiency and safety. Interfaces with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of project activities.

  • Communicates technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing. Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.

  • Assist in writing/changing procedures and routing them for review and approval.

  • Ensures procedures comply with the procedure writer’s guide and procedures are reviewed and approved in accordance with EN-AD-101. 

  • Participates on CRG meetings to assist in determining when Condition Reports identifying procedure issues are simply procedure enhancement request or they are conditions adverse to quality.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Minimum education required of the position:

  • B.S. degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline OR equivalent experience.

    Minimum experience required of the position:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Maintenance, Engineering, Project Management or Production Organization.

    Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.  

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and work within deadlines. 

  • Ability to work effectively as a team player. 

  • Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation.

  • Outstanding communication, conflict management, and change management skills.

  • Proficiency with current computer business applications.
