Long Farms LLC Ag Equipment Operator in Cottonwood, Minnesota

Need 2 full time, temporary, seasonal Ag. Equipment Operators to work in Cottonwood, MN. From: 09/15/2024 - 11/30/2024 8:00am. - 5:00pm. Work: 45 hrs./week, Mon.-Fri. 8 hrs./day, Sat.5 hrs. OVERTIME: All hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at 1.5 times the regular rate of pay. Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned and Safe Time(ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year. Must Apply By: 10/24/2024 JOB DUTIES: Agricultural duties consistent with: Preparing fields for planting, attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, and harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools. Operating tractors, planters, sprayers, and seed drills is crucial, engaging deeply in planting, weeding, spraying, and harvesting activities. Additionally, we fertilize, dust, and spray crops, applying pesticide solutions to manage insects, fungus, weed growth, and diseases via hand sprayers. We manually load and unload crops or materials using conveyors, hand trucks, forklifts, or transfer augers, and fill machines with products. Carefully manipulating controls to set, activate, and adjust machinery mechanisms, we mix specified materials or chemicals and monitor machinery operations for malfunctions. Positioning boxes or attaching bags to catch products at discharge ends, we remove and close full containers, weighing crop-filled containers and recording weights and other identifying information. Attaching equipment extensions or accessories, we load and unload crops using equipment for harvesting, also recording agricultural data, and driving farm trucks to transport crops, supplies, and tools. Inspecting, adjusting, and completing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, we also maintain mowing, and grounds shed upkeep. Essential skills we seek include common-sense decision-making and caring for equipment and land, ensuring clear communication with farm management, adept problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate effectively. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer s discretion., Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer s discretion. All required work-related tools, supplies and equipment provided by the employer. JOB REQUIREMENTS: (3) Months farm experience, extensive pushing, pulling, extensive sitting or walking, frequent stooping or bending over, repetitive movements, able to lift 50lbs., Must have Class D License. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. Required tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.
