Minimum/Required Qualifications Ph.D. in Public Policy or a closely related field (e.g., Economics, Political Science, Sociology, etc.) with a specialization in Technology Policy, Science Policy, AI Policy, or a related area by the start of the appointment. Demonstrated expertise in rigorous empirical research to analyze and inform policy issues in technology, science, or AI. Strong foundation in policy theory and program analysis, with a focus on understanding the societal impacts of technology, including robotics and AI, particularly within the U.S. context. Experience with or ability to secure grant-funded research projects, as evidenced by previous grant submissions, awards, or demonstrated knowledge of the grant application process. Commitment to teaching excellence at both undergraduate and graduate levels, with the ability to develop and teach courses in Science, Technology, and Policy that meet the needs of diverse students. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary environments and engage with stakeholders in policy discussions. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in research, teaching, and service, with an understanding of how technology intersects with social values, ethics, and equity issues. Established or developing record of scholarly publications or presentations in technology, science, or AI policy, indicating potential for impact in the field.
