Job Description

Position Overview

As the Plant Engineer you will be responsible for all environmental emissions compliance and reporting, permitting activities, and safety training at the site. This position reports to the Plant Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of all plant permits, sampling and testing requirements associated with these permits, and reporting to the applicable regulators.

  • Interaction with local, state, and federal regulators to resolve permit issues.

  • Technical support and direction to contractors and in-house personnel.

  • Provide technical support to the station staff as needed to address technical problems.

  • Act as administrator for the station technical library files and effectively manage these support systems.

  • Learn and use key programs for evaluating plant performance.

  • To act in the capacity of the Duty Manager in rotation with other management staff.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with a strong working knowledge of power plant operations and maintenance, and/or a bachelor's degree in engineering.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in either mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred, other engineering degrees considered.

  • Experience with state and federal air emissions and environmental reporting.

  • Ability to handle daily communication of expectations, provide feedback and work collaboratively with plant staff.

  • High degree of flexibility and the capacity to work in a rapidly changing and ambiguous environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and very strong interpersonal skills are essential.
