CIE Newcor MTG Maintenance Technician in Corunna MI, Michigan

*POSITION TITLE:     * Manufacturing/Maintenance Technician

DEPARTMENT:         Manufacturing

ACCOUNTABILITY:  Mfg. Manager/Plant Manager

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for repairs and maintaining, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacture's specifications, machinery and all related equipment, such as mechanical, hydraulic, conveyor systems and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools and precision-measuring and testing instruments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with defining and planning projects and approaches to be investigated.
  • Conducts preliminary root cause investigations.
  • Will conduct changeovers and basic trouble shooting as directed by Supervision
  • Provides training and support to machine operators.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining and continuous improvements.
  • Coordinates process issues with operators, plant management, and maintenance personnel.
  • Supports problem solving and decision making activities or may be chosen to lead activities.
  • Assists in preventive maintenance programs and routine maintenance.
  • Active member of program launch teams.
  • Sets up and programs (limited) equipment, performs capability studies, produce prototype parts.
  • Responsible for adherence to all company safety and housekeeping rules.

     

SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must have a two year technical degree or equivalent level of knowledge/experience. 

Requires team oriented leadership skills and continuing education/training mechanical engineering techniques. A valid Hi-lo license may be required.

Lock out tag out training

* INTER-RELATIONSHIPS*

Maintains interface with all functional departments of plant.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Physical demands required: Occasional climbing. Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, and fingering.
  • Environmental conditions: Exposure to noise, atmospheric conditions, and moving mechanical parts of equipment, tools, or machinery.
