Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Registered Nurse Sepsis Coordinator for our facility to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. What you will do in this role:

  • Applies knowledge and skills related to growth and development over the life span with a focus on identifying the different needs of different age groups.

  • Provides organized care to the patient with sepsis with a focus on health promotion and disease prevention. This includes but is not limited to entering orders and documenting in the medical record as appropriate.

  • Ensures multidisciplinary rounds on sepsis patients are performed daily to identify missed opportunities with bundle compliance and to provide just in time education to frontline staff as appropriate.

  • Gathers relevant information systematically as it relates to biological, physical and environmental factors that impact assigned patient population.

  • Maintains current knowledge of hospital procedures that relate to management of patients with sepsis.

  • Conveys a sense of urgency and drives to obtain closure on barriers for managing assigned patient population.

  • Uses financial and quantitative information related to sepsis management issues and its impact on human health.

  • Demonstrates knowledge in the area of sepsis care and is regarded as an expert in the area.

  • Demonstrates understanding of issues relevant to sepsis management and its impact on the organization.

  • Handles daily work challenges confidently and is willing to adjust to multiple demands and shift priorities when deemed necessary.

  • Actively pursues learning and self-development; seeks feedback and modifies behavior when deemed appropriate.

  • Acts as a resource to all employees for initiatives associated with the NPSGs.

  • Participates in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures which provide for a programmatic framework for quality, performance improvement and regulatory readiness

What qualifications you will need:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

  • Registered Nurse

  • Masters Degree, or Bachelors Degree

  • Ability to collect, interprets, and analyzes data

  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Office

  • Ability to interact as a speaker with good presentation skills.
