JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

Supervises daily activities in the shop area to ensure safe and efficient storage and oversees all company equipment and tools using Tool Watch software. And, in addition to, managing all fleet operations and complying with state and local laws and regulations.

Essential Functions

  1. Analyze the effectiveness of the shop operations.

  2. Coordinates deliveries for jobsites.

  3. Analyze shipment logs.

  4. Review timeliness of scheduled deliveries.

  5. Track inventory levels.

  6. Order new supplies in a timely manner.

  7. Ensures that facility equipment is properly maintained.

  8. Groundskeeper for the building facility.

  9. Trains, guides and evaluates shop personnel.

  10. Communicates and collaborates with other employees.

  11. Operating tools, equipment and machinery according to safety procedures.

  12. Track expenses related to fuel, storage, and truck maintenance

  13. Schedule, route, maintain, and track transport vehicles.

  14. Implement and enforce transportation scheduling and policy changes.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has supervisory responsibilities over shop personnel.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will split their time between an office and shop environment. Will be exposed to inclement weather and high levels of noise. Working around machinery, vehicles and exposure to slippery and uneven surfaces.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will . The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reaching. Moderate walking, standing and/or climbing, lifting and carrying, bending and kneeling.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Travel

Minimum travel is expected for this position at this time.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High School diploma or GED, but experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the education

  2. 5+ years of experience in shop or warehouse operations

  3. Proficient in Excel, Word & PowerPoint
