Amentum ALSS Technician II in Corpus Christi, Texas

ALSS Technician II. Lead in troubleshooting, repair, modification, maintaining and performing scheduled inspections on aviator’s personal survival equipment and aircraft installed safety and survival equipment. In accordance with applicable technical manuals, publications and instructions.

Accountability

  • Perform all work-related actions as directed by management.

  • Follow instructions by work center shift lead, or above.

  • Ensure safety, security and preservation of government and company owned equipment.

  • Address/approach customer in courteous and professional manner.

  • Address/approach co-workers in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Maintain work center in a clean and orderly fashion.

  • Meet government and company license and/or qualification requirement(s).

  • Complete and comply with On the Job Training (OJT), Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous Waste (HW), Tool Control Program (TCP) and Egress Familiarization, Program and all safety regulations by site, city, state and federal.

  • Qualify, perform and maintain Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) and Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) assignment(s) as required.

  • Lead in preparing survey documentation for lost equipment and quality discrepancy report QDR documentation for applicable equipment.

  • Lead in issuing and receiving aircrew survival equipment.

  • Lead in the preparation of survey documentation for lost equipment and quality discrepancy report(s) (QDR).

  • Lead in initiating and updating aviator’s check out and return records.

  • Lead in assembling, place in service and performing scheduled inspections on oxygen mask, helmets, torso harness, G-suit and other related safety and survival equipment.

  • Lead in rigging, fitting, modifying and repair of aviator’s personal survival equipment.

  • Lead in adjusting, maintaining and performing minor repairs using sewing machine.

  • Lead in requesting survival equipment and supplies.

  • Lead in identifying and treating corrosion on aviator’s survival equipment.

  • Lead in completing applicable maintenance action forms (MAF) in NALCOMIS/OOMA.

  • Lead in briefing aviators how to properly use, wear and preflight survival equipment.

  • Provide technical assistance and guidance as required.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED, required.

  • Completion of U.S. Navy Aircrew Survival Equipmentman ‘A’ school, military or civilian school(s) with an equivalent curriculum.

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in aviator’s personal survival equipment and aircraft installed safety and survival equipment maintenance.

  • Experience with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP).

  • Experience with NAVAIR 11-100-1, 13-1-6 series technical manual.

  • Experience with aircrew survival equipment and applicable explosive devices.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch and work in uncomfortable positions.

  • Lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

  • Wear protective clothing and other safety equipment.

  • Work with required/approved hazardous material(s) as per material safety data (MSD).

  • Exposure to noise hazard.

  • Work environment of a standard shop and hangar to inclement weather and extreme heat.

  • Shift work.

  • Color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception, required.

Travel

  • As required for periods up to, or past 90 days.
