Corning’s Environmental Technologies segment manufactures ceramic substrates and filter products for emissions control in mobile and stationary applications around the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing and communicating market and division forecasts by market, region, product across both short and long timeframes

  • Proactively develops and collects market and customer data from multiple sources (internal and external) to build a comprehensive and current data set for synthesis and analysis.

  • Synthesizes and analyzes market and customer data to generate timely, accurate, and relevant intelligence and propose strategic, financial, or operational changes, as needed.

  • Disseminates market and customer intelligence within the division to inform decisions on capacity, financial commitment, and other marketing and sales decisions.

  • Works hand-in-hand with sales and Competitive Intelligence to regularly monitor the market to identify new competitors, substitute products, or early signs of changes in the market.

  • Keeps the division informed of sudden market and customer changes that may impact current activity.

  • Builds models to aid in understanding of past and current market conditions and ultimately predict future market conditions and behaviors.

  • Regularly seeks feedback from internal customers (manufacturing, finance, PLM) and evaluates the inputs from others to drive continual improvement. Recommend and institute needed changes. Trial different forecasting methodologies to improve our accuracy and reduce variability.

  • Multiple international/domestic trips per year. Not expected to exceed 25%.

Key Measures

  • Market and Customer Analysis Effectiveness

  • Forecast accuracy (forecasted market volume and customer strategy, demand, technology, product/process capability, cost, volume, share, and / or financial results as compared to actual)

  • Timeliness of intelligence delivery (extent to which market and customer intelligence is delivered with enough time for Corning to react to changes)

  • Customer satisfaction (extent to which customers are satisfied that intelligence output is accurate and effectively supports division decision-making as compared to target

  • Project management (completion of key milestones as compared to time, quality, and cost targets)

Required Education and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Science, Engineering or Finance. MBA or equivalent degree or experience (e.g. strategic planning, forecasting, and market analysis) strongly preferred.

  • Three (3) years industry experience (automotive industry desired) in Development, Engineering, Product Line Management, Forecasting, Sales.

  • Demonstrated track record of completing extensive analysis and data interpretation

  • Experience in statistical analysis and root cause analysis

  • Experience converting complex market, customer, and supply chain behaviors into logical mathematical models to explain past and predict future

  • Experience working with top management and leadership

Desired Skills

  • Detailed knowledge of mobile emissions market and market drivers

  • SAP-IBP experience

  • Tableau experience

  • Black Belt qualification

The range for this position is $95,174.00 - $130,864.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
