We are currently looking for a Strategic Sourcing Intern.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The strategic sourcing intern will be responsible for assisting the Global Strategic Sourcing team in departmental and corporate objectives. This will be a practical and immersive learning experience. The intern will be assigned tasks and will benefit from shadowing opportunities. Assignments may be under close supervision or be more independently directed with deliverables due on specific timelines. This role will offer the intern the opportunity to gain experience in several areas such as the RFx process, negotiations, reporting/analytics, financial analysis, supplier management, contracting/contract management and other daily tasks. Additionally, the intern will have the opportunity to develop soft skills such as presentation, business communication, stakeholder engagement and project management skills. The intern will be assigned a supervisor and should expect to interact with several functional groups. This internship will last approximately 12 weeks. Top performing candidates may be offered extended internships, contract or full-time positions.

4 positions available in various areas of sourcing– Strategic Sourcing (Multi-category), IT Sourcing, Business Intelligence/Sourcing Technologies & Processes (Center of Excellence), and ESG.

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support RFx processes including documentation of requirements, RFx and supporting exhibit creation, supplier meeting facilitation, proposal synthesis, scorecard building and award process.

  • Participate in negotiations, quote requests and service renewals and strategic planning activities.

  • Perform various analytics and reporting tasks such as trend and spend analytics.

  • Involvement in Business communications including presentations, internal business requirements gathering and business partner interviews.

  • Create process documentation and be involved in process improvement and process mapping tasks.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams at the various stages of a project lifecycle – initiation, planning, execution, monitoring.

  • Conduct market research including category strategy (commodity specific strategy) contributions including SWOT, Porter’s 5 forces, RACI matrix and other analysis.

  • Interaction with ERP systems or other technologies as appropriate including contract management, spend analytics, supplier portals and savings reporting tools.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate and Undergraduate business students with/or pursuing a major in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Management, Business Intelligence, Marketing or other related degrees with expected graduation date in 2024/2025.

  • Strong Analytical capabilities. Financial acumen preferred.

  • Ability to summarize and present research findings

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels. Ability to communicate across cultures preferable.

  • Empathetic communication style that fosters connection, collaboration, and confidence (particular emphasis for Supplier Diversity internship)

  • Comfortable with external communications and marketing; Demonstrated creativity a plus (particular emphasis for Supplier Diversity internship)

  • Multi-Lingual a plus (French, Spanish, Dutch etc.)

  • Eager learner with the propensity to lead.

  • Proficient user of Microsoft Tools: Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

  • Candidate must be willing to work 40 hours a week during the summer.

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.

  • Ability to work on-site at US Headquarters (Coppell, TX). Remote Working Option available for some positions.
