Your new role – why is this a great opportunity?

We are seeking an experienced Power BI architect to lead the implementation and development of Power BI within our Data and Analytics department in Global IT. Lundbeck is committed to becoming a more data and digital innovation-driven company; this is your chance to make a significant impact.

We are embarking on a new journey with Power BI and need you to lead and take ownership of this initiative. As Senior Power BI Architect, you will be key in enabling Lundbeck to be a focused innovator. Your work will enable sustainable, data-driven insights that significantly improve decision-making and promote innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement best practices in governance, documentation, monitoring, scaling of resources and licenses, and life-cycle management.

  • Contribute to an integrated data architecture within the Data & Analytics department, leveraging platforms such as Snowflake and OneLake.

  • Overseeing automated monitoring of daily production, resource consumption, platform usage, and compliance.

  • Coordinate between the BI platform, business units, and IT infrastructure for production and development.

  • Train users and developers on the platform, enabling them to utilize features and new releases effectively.

  • Provide system support for platform issues and business support for change requests.

  • Build and optimize data models in Power BI and our data platform, Snowflake.

Your future team

The Business Intelligence team is part of our new Data and Analytics department in Global IT, which currently consists of approximately 25 data, software, and AI engineers. We are on a mission to provide innovative solutions to Lundbeck, focusing on unlocking our data's value and creating data-driven insights. We build many of our data models on our Snowflake-based data platform using dbt, and we collaborate closely with our colleagues in the Data platform team. You will have the opportunity to leave your mark by promoting a culture of trust, curiosity, adaptability, and accountability.

The position is based in Valby, Copenhagen.

What you bring to the team

  • Demonstrated experience overseeing Microsoft Power BI environments and delivering effective implementations.

  • Strong understanding of governance frameworks and the ability to establish Microsoft and Industry best practices.

  • Expertise in documentation standards, monitoring systems performance, scaling resources appropriately, managing licenses efficiently, and overseeing the entire life-cycle of data analytics solutions.

  • Advanced problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset.

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI and Qlik Sense Cloud

  • Proficiency in data modeling within Power BI and SQL.

  • Hands-on experience with Python, R, and SQL and theoretical knowledge of Kimball dimensional modeling or other data modeling techniques in the context of BI.

  • Understanding principles for designing and implementing cloud applications, specifically within Microsoft Azure.

  • Experience with DevOps Pipeline.

  • Excellent in business-focused communication

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Foundational knowledge of analytical engineering tools and practices such as GitHub and dbt, or other evidence of collaborating and communicating effectively with analytical or data engineering peers.

  • Experience with Power Platform tools such as Power Apps and Power Automate.

  • "Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate" certification is advantageous.
