Your new role – why is this a great opportunity?

In this role, you will provide scientific and functional leadership to a team of Safety Scientists. Your team will be responsible for developing and enhancing the understanding of the asset’s safety profile, working closely under the matrix leadership of the Safety Leads. This includes authoring scientific documents, contributing to trial management from a safety perspective, and engaging in risk management activities. You will play a vital role in ensuring knowledge sharing across Global Medical Safety and fostering collaboration with stakeholders throughout the R&D organisation.

In addition, you will use your expertise to contribute to the development and implementation of state-of-the-art processes, methodologies and tools, in accordance with changes in the regulatory environment and trends in healthcare system and society.

As a member of Global Medical Safety leadership team, you will be contributing to the planning and execution of strategic initiatives in Global Patient Safety.

Your future team

Safety Surveillance is part of Global Patient Safety and is located at Lundbeck headquarters in Copenhagen. Our team consists of seven Safety Scientists who take pride in safeguarding trial participants and patients taking Lundbeck’s medicines. Our culture is characterized by trust, commitment and an eagerness to help each other out. We appreciate the balance between working in our individual workstations in the open office, with room for daily interactions, and the opportunity to work from home 1-2 days per week.

Our team works very closely with our colleagues in Global Medical Safety – a department consisting of approximately 30 Safety Scientists and Safety Leads and with the global responsibility for the safety surveillance of all Lundbeck’s products in clinical development as well as marketed products. The department spreads across US, Singapore and Denmark with the colleagues in Denmark being responsible for Lundbeck’s development compounds and strategic brands.

What you bring to the team

We are actively looking for a temporary employee (maternity cover) to lead the team. Our preferred candidates have the following qualifications:

  • University degree in life sciences (e.g. M.Sc. Pharmacy, M.Sc. Human Biology)

  • Profound experience in drug development and patient safety

  • Solid understanding of global regulatory landscape

  • Experience with line management or matrix leadership

  • Experience in operating in multi-functional and multi-national environment

  • Ability to coach and develop high performing teams with an inclusive and collaborative leadership style

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities

  • High interpersonaland communication skills

  • Ability to navigatecomplex matrix environment

  • Highly ethical personality

Seniority of the position will be based on your experience and qualifications.
