We are looking for a Principal Scientist to join the department of Medicinal Chemistry. As an outstanding medicinal chemist with documented results, you have the opportunity to become a Principal Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry at Lundbeck Research in Copenhagen Denmark (DK) and join our quest for new medicines to treat Central Nervous System (CNS) diseases.

Your new role – why is this a great opportunity?

As our new Principal Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry, you will be involved in all aspects of the medicinal chemistry value chain and expected to provide scientific oversight and accept accountability of medicinal chemistry activities in assigned projects thereby playing animportant role in advancing our programs.Furthermore, as an experienced Synthetic Organic Chemist, you will be working on the design and synthesis of new compounds.You, willengage in forming strong and effective collaborations with scientists from other disciplines within Research and as such, promote a culture that embraces open scientific debate and agile, accountable decision-making.

Your future team

You will be working in a collaborative team environment within Medicinal Chemistry and the role will allow you to further develop your skills as a medicinal chemist. With the current role we are looking to leverage our in-house synthetic and medicinal chemistry capabilities.Medicinal Chemistry is a key component of the Research organization in Copenhagen, Denmark, where our goal is to discover new medicines for CNS diseases. The department of Medicinal Chemistry is fully integrated encompassing the hit identification, Hit to Lead, Lead Optimisation and Candidate Selection processes.

What you bring to the team

You have 5 or more years Medicinal Chemistry experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, and preferably a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry. You have a demonstrated Track Record of impacting Drug Discovery Projects through compound design and synthesis.You are innovative, rigorous, and can devise, and implement effective medicinal chemistry strategies. You have a thorough knowledge of the principles of Medicinal Chemistry and its multi-disciplinary interfaces.You can provide clear focus and influence decisions both within Medicinal Chemistry and across other disciplines in drug discovery projects. Finally, you have great communication skills and the ability to develop, implement, and clearly communicate chemistry/project strategies to team, management, and collaborators in English.
