job purpose :
The Human Resources Manager will play an integral role in the leadership of fairlife’s flagship plant in Coopersville, Michigan. The Human Resources Manager provides strategic leadership and support in functional areas of Human Resources including recruitment, policy development and oversight, employee relations, job evaluation, benefits administration, employee development, training, culture development and special projects. This position serves as a strategic and tactical business partner to the plant leadership team.
responsibilities:
Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the operations team to assist in developing solutions, programs, and policies
Work closely with leaders and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, support employee development and increase productivity and retention
Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation with knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations ensuring compliance
Maintain HR Information System records, payroll records, and compile reports from database
Lead and partner with talent acquisition for facility recruitment- nonexempt and exempt
Provide assistance with the evaluation of compensation and make appropriate recommendations
Coach management in various HR activities such as recruitment, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, employee relations and policy adherence
Develop and oversee practices to recognize, reward, and appreciate employees
Lead a small team of human resources professionals
Lead appropriate change management initiatives in partnership with plant leadership
Act as key representative of the plant and have a presence with various shifts within the plant
skills/qualifications required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related experience
3+ years of relevant experience required
HRIS experience required, ADP preferred
Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
Proven record of implementing processes and change management
Strong background in manufacturing/non-exempt workforce setting preferred
Demonstrated experience in strategic business partnership
HR Certifications, preferred
Disciplined problem-solving methodology with an ability to find the root cause of issues
Experience implementing programs that get business results for the group they serve
food safety requirements:
Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required that may affect product quality or food safety.
Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.
Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, Customer and/or Government requirements/standards as prioritized by the Company.
Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.
Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
In the event of absence, another employee with the same skill level will assume the duties and responsibilities as required.
