EOE<p> DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: <br>These duties require the performance of clinical social work in helping patients with social, emotional and related difficulties associated with their behavioral health needs. The work is performed within established standards of care and under clinical supervision. The scope of work to be performed is determined by patient and agency need with the goal of affording access to those that are in need of services and assisting individuals in their recovery. The Staff Social Worker functions under the direction of a Supervising Social Worker Deputy Director or Program Manager who may define or limit the work to be performed. Employees in this class are expected to meet with professionals of agencies in or outside of the community to obtain assistance and guidance for patients.<p> REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: <br>Thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures of clinical social work and of the social factors affecting those with behavioral health needs; ability to organize work effectively; ability to interpret federal, state and local laws affecting the medical and health programs; ability to prepare reports; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.<p> MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<br> A Master's Degree in Social Work from a graduate school of social work approved by the New York State Department of Education.<p> SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:<br> Current Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or must obtain Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) within six months of appointment. <p> Applications are available at the Otsego County Personnel/Civil Service Department, 183 Main Street, Cooperstown, NY 13326 or online at www.otsegocounty.com
