The Senior Loan Assistant assists Loan officers and designated personnel with the gathering of information and loan documentation for credit analysis, underwriting, closings, and maintenance of commercial loan portfolios, client information, and loan files. This position provides administrative support for Commercial Loan Officers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Working with Loan officers, customers and others to obtain required information and documentation necessary to properly analyze commercial credit requests. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.

2. Working closely with the Loan Operations Staff to insure efficient, thorough and accurate preparation of loan documentation. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.

3. Assisting Loan Officers with the data entry into various spreadsheets, analytical software and bank data systems. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

4. May prepare lien perfection documents, loan exhibits and other forms and ancillary loan documents and proofreads all loan documents for accuracy. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

5. Coordinates loan closings with loan processing and clients and checks documents for proper signatures, authorities, dates, and verifies accuracy of closing statements. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

6. Prepares and maintains credit files for assigned areas. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.

7. Assisting in the preparation and proper documentation of draw requests. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.

8. Answering phone and written inquiries concerning loan processing, servicing and information or file maintenance. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.

9. Assisting in the timely obtaining of all tracked/required information required from clients and regularly reviews document exception reports to insure timely elimination of items. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.

10. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned. This duty is performed monthly, about 5% of the time.

11. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

12. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 3 years related experience and/or training, and 7 to 11 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and understand general business/company related articles and professional journals; Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.

SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED

Advanced: Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing

Intermediate: Presentation/PowerPoint

WORKING CONDITIONS

Somewhat disagreeable working conditions. C ntinuously exposed to one or two elements such as noise, intermittent standing, walking; and occasional pushing, carrying, or lifting.
