Position Summary\ This is a full-time. 12-month position in the Department of Student Services under the direct supervision of the Director of the Student Health Center. This position must be licensed by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing and the Arkansas Department of Health Limited Licensure program.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

TheLPNwith Limited X-ray Licensure is responsible for coordinating x-ray exams, which includes utilizing medical imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images. The position also stocks and orders supplies and prepares and maintains radiologic records. The position is also responsible for providing direct patient care to clients, scheduling outside diagnostic tests with prior approvals forUCAstudents and staff, and accurately assessing and treating within the scope of practice and in accordance with Arkansas State Laws.\ \

Patient management:\ \

  1. Follow patient confidentiality Policies and Procedures and forUCAStudent Health Center andHIPAA.
  2. Performing x-ray procedures according to the scope of the Limited Licensure.
  3. Supervise, train, direct, delegate and assist when necessary all clinic assistants and part-time extra help employees on daily assignments.
  4. Provide direct patient care to clients, accurately assessing and treating with scope of practice and in accordance with the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act of 1995.
  5. Document accurately and legibly all findings and patient care according to legal and professional standards, using clinic Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  6. Perform patient instruction and teaching regarding diagnosis.
  7. Perform selected procedures without supervision.
  8. Appropriately refer to Registered Nurse, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, Physician or local health care provider.
  9. Assist with administering IM, SC, ID or P.O. medications as directed and document inEHR.
  10. Assist in development of patient treatment plans, patient records, forms and services that complement the clinic practice.
  11. Evaluate patient responses to treatment and ensure proper follow-up.
  12. Assist with Emergency care and treatment for patients.
  13. Possess working knowledge of clinic equipment on usage and maintenance.
  14. Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of rooms, infectious waste containers and sharps containers.

\ Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of x-ray procedures and radiation safety measures. Knowledge of nursing theory and practices. Ability to provide direct nursing care. Ability to observe and evaluate patients condition. Ability to instruct patients in routine medical care. Ability to perform various nursing procedures.

Required Education and/or Experience

Licensure by the Arkansas Department of Health in accordance with the Consumer-Patient Radiation Health and Safety Act, Act 1071 of 1999, that requires individuals who use radioactive materials or medical equipment emitting or detecting ionizing radiation on human beings for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes be licensed to do so.\ Licensure by the Arkansas State Nursing Board as a Licens d Practical Nurse in accordance withACA17-87-304.
