Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

The Plant Administrative Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the plant. This role will involve a combination of general administrative duties, recruiting coordination, and generalist support. The ideal candidate will have solid knowledge of administrative tasks, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support plant team with recruiting coordination, including scheduling interviews, and maintaining applicant tracking system.

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive organizational information.

  • Assist with the planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, plant tours, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, off-hours support and retirement celebrations.

  • Take calls and messages, providing information on organization policies and procedures as needed.

  • Prepare OT reports, in addition to presentations using spreadsheet and graphic software.

  • Perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, composing and typing letters, reports, and other materials.

  • Coordinate special projects and department activities, ensuring timely completion.

  • Identify and propose remedies to problems to improve workflow and increase efficiency.

  • Perform periodic audits of files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.

  • Maintain filing systems, ensuring documents are organized and easily accessible.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent and minimum 2 years of administrative support experience

  • Additional certification in office administration is a plus.

  • Proficient in using Microsoft office applications.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and solve problems using established procedures.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.

  • Familiarity with policies and procedures is preferred.

The range for this position is $45,538.00 - $62,615.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
