Aerotek Maintenance Technician in COMMACK, New York

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Execute the scheduled and day-to-day activities of the Maintenance Department to ensure the plant meets safety and quality goals. Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain various automated production equipment in a modern and complex food production facility. Perform specific duties in mixing, oven, packaging, scaling, warehouse, quality control, and sanitation. Comply with all federal, state, local, SQF 2000, and company regulations with optimum regard for plant safety.

Hard Skills

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, motors, and pumps.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, or replace electrical control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, or replace hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical power components.

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment utilizing PLCs and other automated control systems. Proficient in RS Logix and reading ladder logic.

  • Perform work order repairs, inspections, adjustments, and preventative and predictive maintenance tasks.

  • Collaborate with production and refrigeration personnel to effectively resolve and eliminate plant and process problems. Proficient in using multimeter, ohm meter, and/or megger.

Job Type

This is a contract to hire or permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Mcdonough, Georgia.

Work Environment

Industrial food manufacturing site, climate controlled. Shift: 4pm - 4am, 2-2-3 schedule. Training: 2 weeks on first shift, 6am - 4pm.
