CenterWell Senior Specialty Consultative Pharmacist in Columbus, Ohio

The Senior Specialty Consultative Pharmacist integrates clinical programs to improve overall health outcomes with a focus on Specialty prescription medications filled at CenterWell Specialty Pharmacy. The Senior Specialty Consultative Pharmacist work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Location: All candidates must reside in Ohio, Florida, Texas or Arizona to work remotely.

Hours

Clinical/PMP Department hours are Monday-Friday 8am-8pm EST. Permanent schedule will consist of 2 closing shifts (11:30am-8pm EST) per week with remaining weekly shifts being 10am-6:30pm EST. Holiday shifts are rotated based on business operational hours and coverage needs. Mandatory overtime may be required due to business need and is communicated by leadership.

The Senior Specialty Consultative Pharmacist completes comprehensive medication reviews and conducts extensive medication and disease state counseling with enrolled patients. The Senior Specialty Consultative Pharmacist drives health awareness with patients through education and provides additional support such as social work references, food resources and other programs as identified.

As a member of the Specialty Clinical Team, you can work a variety of tasks based upon business need.

Daily work assignments include both inbound and outbound calls to patients to discuss medication therapy, side effect management and adverse event reporting when appropriate.

Additional tasks that are not directly phone call related include but are not limited to:

Pharmacist Care Plan/Treatment Review:

  • Review prescriptions for accuracy

  • Check for drug-drug interactions

  • Evaluate appropriateness of disease state, dosage, directions and therapy

  • Utilize electronic resources and guidelines to assist in professional decision making

Required Qualifications

  • Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy (Bachelor of Science or PharmD)

  • Active PHARMACIST license from Florida, Texas, Ohio or Arizona Board of Pharmacy

  • Candidate must reside and work within the state of Florida, Texas, Ohio or Arizona

  • 3 or more years of experience as a pharmacist in a high-volume retail, hospital or mail order pharmacy practice environment

  • Ability to participate in Federal prescription programs

  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting to achieve goals and meet deadlines

  • Proven problem-solving skills and strong ability to utilize resources for professional decision-making

  • Work ethic that is focused, accurate and highly productive

  • Excellent verbal and written skills with ability to communicate effectively within the team and to patients or caregivers

  • Proficient with computers and comfortable trouble-shooting technology issues

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and OneNote

  • Ability to provide hard-wired internet connection and a private workspace

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in Spanish – If applicable, please specify this on application/resume when applying

  • Pharmacist Board Certification – Oncology, Specialty, Geriatric, Pharmacotherapy, Ambulatory

  • Previous experience in a Specialty Pharmacy setting

  • Previous experience with pharmacy benefits management

  • Previous Commercial, Medicare and/or Medicaid experience

  • Previous clinical experience in managed care

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$104,000 - $143,000 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
