JPMorgan Chase Principal Architect in Columbus, Ohio

As a Principal Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Engineering and Architecture Data Platform Team, you provide expertise to enhance and develop architecture platforms based on modern cloud-based technologies, as well as support the adoption of strategic global solutions. Leverage your advanced architecture capabilities and collaborate with colleagues across the organization to drive best-in-class outcomes.

Job responsibilities

  • Advises cross-functional teams on technology selection to achieve target state architecture and decisions on improvements to current technologies

  • Develops multi-year roadmaps aligned with business and architecture strategy and priorities

  • Creates complex and scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design

  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others

  • Serves as the function's go-to subject matter expert

  • Contributes to the development of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies

  • Creates durable, reusable software frameworks that improves velocity and quality of output across teams and functions

  • Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience.

  • Hands-on practical experience in establishing Data Architecture principles and patterns, data modeling approaches for transactional and analytical needs, with considerable experience in design and development of data lake and data warehouse technologies with an emphasis on public cloud based solutions

  • Deep knowledge of data engineering/ETL patterns, processes and related software within a data lake/data warehouse context, including data ingress, transformation, and publishing of data products

  • Advanced knowledge of Data Governance capabilities, data quality tools, data protection/security patterns, data catalog functions, and data retention/destruction needs

  • Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex architecture problems in one or more technical disciplines

  • Ability to present and effectively communicate to Senior Leaders and Executives

  • Practical cloud native experience

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Understanding of the financial services business

  • Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or Teredata technologies
