Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Network Engineer in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing the operational vision and direction for our team, making strategic decisions based on complex data systems and leading complex programs that span multiple organizational units. Your responsibilities will include providing high-level engineering support for our corporate enterprise network and mentoring less experienced team members.

Responsibilities:

• Develop operational vision and direction for the team in collaboration with other Network Operations managers.

• Make strategic decisions by analyzing complex data systems.

• Lead complex programs that span multiple inter-organizational units.

• Provide Level 3/4 engineering support for the corporate enterprise network.

• Mentor less experienced team members and contribute to their detail oriented development.

• Maintain current detail oriented and technical skills, keeping abreast of current and emerging technologies.

• Provide failure or root cause analysis when required.

• Resolve complex issues in the environment with little to no supervision, gathering accurate information to provide data-driven solutions.

• Provide after-hours and on-call support as needed.

• Understand network triggers and execute appropriate workflows.

• Support the development and improvement of technical engineering documentation.

• Automate workflows to troubleshoot integrated systems and eliminate toil.

• Utilize core network automation skills including Python, JSON, Linux, Java, DevOps, and Git.

This role does not require the candidate to transition into a permanent or permanent role. Requirements • Proficient in network engineering and related technologies.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to document technical information clearly and concisely.

• Experience in developing and implementing network policies.

• Capable of supervising and managing a team.

• Ability to provide workstation support and manage production environments.

• Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot network issues effectively.

• Experience with automation tools and techniques.

• Proficient in Python, Java, and C++ programming languages.

• Familiarity with cloud technologies, specifically Microsoft Azure.

• Experience with system integration and implementation.

• Proficient in using monitoring tools to track network performance.

• Ability to execute tasks efficiently and work collaboratively in a team.

• Experience with coding and software development best practices.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and principles.

• Knowledge of REST API and its applications in network engineering.

• Proficient in Linux operating system.

• Experience with cloud technologies and services.
