The Work
The Google Cloud Security Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust security solutions within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments for our clients. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of client data and applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Security Architecture & Design: Design and implement secure GCP architectures, leveraging best practices and industry standards. This includes threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and defining security controls for various GCP services.
Security Implementation & Management: Implement and manage security controls across GCP, including IAM, VPC networking, firewalls, and data loss prevention (DLP) measures.
Security Monitoring & Response: Monitor GCP environments for security events and anomalies, analyze security logs, and respond to security incidents effectively. Utilize tools like Cloud Security Command Center (CSC) and Security Health Analytics (SHA).
Compliance & Auditing: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI DSS – as relevant to client needs) and conduct regular security audits and assessments.
Automation & DevOps: Employ Infrastructure as Code ( IaC ) tools like Terraform or Deployment Manager to automate security configurations and deployments. Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines.
Collaboration & Mentorship: Collaborate with development, operations, and other security teams to foster a strong security culture. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Vulnerability Management: Implement and maintain a vulnerability management program, including vulnerability scanning, remediation, and reporting.
Threat Intelligence: Stay abreast of emerging threats and vulnerabilities, incorporating relevant threat intelligence into security strategies.
Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 0 to 100% depending on business need and client requirements.
Here's what you need
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Google Cloud Security Engineer or equivalent role.
Minimum 3 years of proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing security solutions within GCP.
Minimum 3 year of experience understanding of GCP security services, including IAM, VPC networking, Cloud Security Command Center (CSC), Security Health Analytics (SHA), and Identity-Aware Proxy (IAP), and s trong knowledge of security best practices, including threat modeling, vulnerability management, and incident response.
Minimum 3 years of experience with Infrastructure as Code ( IaC ) tools like Terraform or Deployment Manager, and in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation.
Minimum of 3 years of experience with at least two of the following: Compute Engine, App Engine/Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL/Cloud Spanner.
Minimum of 3 years of experience with security auditing and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI DSS – as relevant to client needs).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Information Security, or a related field or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate’s Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience)
Bonus points if you have
Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification is highly desirable.
Experience with big data security on GCP (BigQuery , Dataflow, Dataproc).
Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools and techniques.
Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems.
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
