Jacobs Construction Project Engineer in Columbus, Ohio

Together, we’re pushing the limits of what’s possible and we need someone with field construction expertise with a focused knowledge in electrical.

When you join us, we’ll have you perform on-site QA contractor compliance and contract documentation to approved Construction Quality Control Plan and Owner Verification Plan during Design Build Construction by the Contractor. The contracted construction work will include but not limited to management and performance of:

• Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.

  • Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field.

  • Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status.

  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with construction manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support.

  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Ability to commute to/from multiple worksites.

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent from an accredited university.

• 5 or more years of engineering/construction experience

  • PE or CCM a plus

  • Water/Wastewater experience preferred.

  • Be able to read and interpret contract documents and construction drawings.

  • Proficiency with MS Office software is required.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

• Strong time management and attention to detail

• Excellent organizational skills

• Willingness to train in OSHA, CPR and other Jacobs mandated training classes
