Actalent is currently hiring for Lab Technician for a civil consulting firm. This role will be responsible for the following: Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing on soil based on ASTM standards, as well as other building materials as assigned (i.e., concrete, asphalt, etc.).

• Under close supervision of higher-level technicians or staff professionals, assist on tasks and perform basic testing and observation duties.

• Provide clear documentation of findings and results.

• Communicate information to the Project Manager and discuss the accuracy of data in preparation for submittal.

• Submit documentation and communicate results as directed by the Project Manager.

• Maintain assigned equipment.

• Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Perform pre-task planning prior to executing work. Report any safety issues or concerns.

Qualifications

-Must have degree in Geology or Civil Engineering or prior lab experience

-Ability to follow standards and meet deadlines

-Strong attention to detail

Plus:

-ASTM standards experience

-Experience with material testing - concrete/soil/etc.

This role is in a lab and NOT in the field
