Robert Half Plant Controller in Columbus, Indiana

Description

We are looking for a Plant Controller to join our team in Columbus, Indiana. In this role, you will be at the helm of financial operations for our plants, leading finance teams across various locations. This role will involve overseeing financial legal requirements, managing financial resources, and conducting analysis to support business decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and conduct month-end and year-end closings, ensuring compliance with local and group GAAP.

• Act as the primary contact for annual audits and corporate tax returns.

• Ensure GAAP compliance, keep reconciliation records, and maintain accurate accounting records.

• Support the development and implementation of internal control systems.

• Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports.

• Conduct profitability analysis of different business units to aid decision making and investments.

• Manage financial resources in line with group directives.

• Review and support weekly cash forecasts.

• Drive improved working capital.

• Continuously improve finance processes for better efficiency.

• Act as a financial advisor for Plant Managers to evaluate and forecast budget and capex scenarios.

Requirements

• Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Plant Controller role or similar financial management position.

• Demonstrable experience in month-end close activities is a must.

• Proficiency in budgeting and forecasting activities is required.

• Strong expertise in financial reporting.

• Must possess excellent analytical, strategic planning and execution skills.

• Proven ability in managing, guiding and leading employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.

• Proficiency in the use of financial management software.

• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

• A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.

• Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.

• Professional qualification such as CMA/CPA or similar required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics, and a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent is preferred.

• Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence and executive presence – ability to motivate staff.

• Excellent analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills.

• SAP required
