Cummins Inc. Materials - Engineering Change Coordinator in Columbus, Indiana

DESCRIPTION

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Ensuring Compliance : By conducting thorough audits of product specification documents, you'll ensure adherence to Product Release standards, maintaining high-quality and consistent documentation.

  • Educating Stakeholders : Providing information and education to stakeholders about standards and rules will enhance their understanding and compliance, leading to more efficient and accurate documentation processes.

  • Facilitating Communication : Identifying and collaborating with internal stakeholders to solve queries will ensure that product requirements are met and any issues are promptly addressed.

  • Standardizing Processes : Developing and implementing practices and work instructions will standardize the product requirements and change management processes, leading to more streamlined operations.

  • Mentoring Team Members : Training and supporting less experienced Documentation Controllers will build a more knowledgeable and capable team, enhancing overall productivity and quality.

  • Leading Improvement Projects : By leading and participating in improvement projects, you'll drive continuous improvement in product requirements and change management processes, contributing to the company's innovation and efficiency.

  • Enhancing Documentation Quality : Your role in ensuring that all documentation adheres to Cummins' standards will improve the overall quality and reliability of product specifications.

  • Supporting Cross-Functional Teams : Providing support across engineering, marketing, services, and manufacturing processes will ensure that all departments are aligned and working towards common goals, fostering a collaborative work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Reliable Data Acquisition : By preparing samples, verifying equipment calibration, and performing tests according to approved procedures, you'll ensure that the data collected is trustworthy and valuable for engineers and customers.

  • Clear Data Reporting : Your ability to document testing methods, instrument settings, data, and analysis clearly will help engineers and customers understand results and make informed decisions.

  • Effective Product Configuration Management : Establishing and maintaining baselines for product artifacts and managing changes from concept to obsolescence will ensure the integrity and traceability of product configurations.

  • Proactive Action Orientation : Tackling new opportunities and challenges with urgency, energy, and enthusiasm will drive progress and innovation within the organization.

  • Effective Communication : Developing and delivering communications that meet the unique needs of different audiences will enhance understanding and collaboration across teams.

  • High-Quality Decision Making : Making timely and well-informed decisions will keep the organization moving forward and help navigate complex situations effectively.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience is required

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience in documentation and control, engineering discipline or related field.

Successful candidate must be willing to work onsite in Columbus, IN.
