What You Will Do:

  • Develop, implement, and optimize Manufacturing Engineering best practices, processes, and policies to ensure standardization across Columbus Forge.

  • Drive ME capability and development across the function, collaborating with industry partners, educational institutions, Global Engineering, and early career/talent acquisition teams to establish a skills capability and development strategy.

  • Ensure the ME organizational structure meets current and future business needs

  • Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure products meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations.

  • Maximize capabilities and utilization while understanding future requirements.

  • Create robust strategic plans for current and future requirements, aligning with development programs, customer needs, and emerging technologies to lead the vision towards the factory of the future.

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.

  • Monitor and control manufacturing costs while optimizing processes and maintaining quality.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Advanced Degree and 7+ years of experience in Engineering, Operations or Quality; OR Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Associate’s degree and 12+ years of relevant industry experience; High School, Technical School or Military training and 15+ years of relevant industry experience.

  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access and handle sensitive data required to support our government and military programs.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Advanced degree in STEM field. Engineering fields preferred.

  • Expert level knowledge of isothermal forging, heat-treating, and machining processes.

  • Manufacturing engineering experience, preferably within the Aerospace or Automotive industry.

  • Experience in developing and industrializing new processes in highly technical environments.

  • Senior leadership experience with ability to develop direct-reports and engineering staff.

  • Knowledge of Engineering and Quality standards within advanced manufacturing environment.

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement tools (CORE).

  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including senior level management.

What is my Role Type?

In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work. We’ve introduced role types to help you understand how you will operate in our blended work environment. This role is:

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
