Our client is seeking EITHER a Sr Analyst or Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis for their team located in Columbia, SC.

This role is pivotal in shaping the financial and strategic plan of the business, understanding company performance, and driving cost-saving initiatives. You will be expected to provide detailed analysis and commentary on cost center results and prepare business cases for new investments and strategic decisions. This person will oversee the development of a junior analyst and will report to the VP of FP& A. The company boasts a laid-back, entrepreneurial culture that is a little less structured/siloed. Innovative ideas, a collaborative mindset, and ability to be in the details is essential for one's success in this role.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with leadership team to develop the business's short-term and long-term financial and strategic plan

• Deliver competitor analysis, market trends, and associated commentary to the Leadership team

• Analyze financial and operational results to better understand company performance

• Communicate product/department performance and results to senior management, working with the business to drive solutions

• Provide detailed analysis and commentary on cost center results

• Review operations and recommend new productivity or cost-saving initiatives

• Prepare business cases to support new investment, strategic and other business decisions

• Lead preparation of monthly financial results and Monthly Operating Review presentation, including recommendations to senior management for improvements that will lead to cost reduction, revenue generation, and streamlining of operations

• Utilize high proficiency in financial modeling techniques and Excel formulas and functions

• Apply strong analytical and data gathering skills to tasks and projects.

  Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of progressive related experience, with most recent experience in the FP& A space specifically

• Proven expertise in Financial Planning and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP& A)

• Demonstrable proficiency in Financial Modeling and Ad Hoc Financial Analysis

• Experience with ERP systems is required

• Proficiency in Power BI and Microsoft Excel is necessary

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to lead others and manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, a Master’s degree or relevant certification would be an advantage

• High ethical standards and professionalism, given the sensitive nature of the information and data handled.
