Responsibilities: Performs professional and technical level work in the field of geographic information systems (GIS), mapping, planning, zoning, building and development plan review. Acts as a resource providing information and assistance to County staff and the general public. Assists Planning, Inspection, Stormwater, and Design and Construction Division staff with GIS based research and analysis. Develops GIS-based displays for projects including staff reports for presentation to various boards and commissions. Maintains department related data layers.

Manages the capture of data related to road maintenance and design activities for the Boone County Resource Management/Road and Bridge Departments. Responsible for the maintenance of GIS and asset management resources supporting Resource Management/Road and Bridge activities. Creates and updates specialized map products.

Designs and produces reports which provide Resource Management/Road and Bridge departments with the information needed to prioritize, plan and implement budgets and work plans to most efficiently utilize resources. May contribute to content and provide maintenance of social media outlets, providing information and accountability to the public. Provides software and GIS support to staff as well as general technical training/assistance.

Status: Full-time, non-exempt, benefited Working hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday

Qualifications: Associates degree with related coursework in GIS, database management or computer science with at least one year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong technical and communication skills required. Familiarity with ESRI ArcGIS and Microsoft Office programs and analytical ability required to gather and summarize data. Prefer Cartegraph experience and/or asset management experience. With support from Boone County, must obtain and maintain a Part 107 license to operate a drone. Must possess a current Missouri drivers license and pass a criminal background check.

Starting Hourly Pay Range: $20.92 - $26.15 per hour
