Job Title: Junior Financial Analyst

Job Description

The role requires processing the most complex transactions or reconcilements relating to loan or security payments. The candidate will provide remittance and correction information to servicers, monitor and analyze pooled loans to determine non-compliance, and communicate information to investors. The candidate will evaluate servicer performance to ensure compliance with stated agreements and participate in system enhancements by attending user groups and testing. The candidate will communicate processing exceptions that are relevant to similar series across individual portfolios. A working knowledge of Collateral, Securities, Default, or Trust Administration is essential. The candidate may also train junior level staff and review their processing and reconciliations and propose recommendations and implement automated solutions on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities

  • Process complex transactions or reconcilements relating to loan or security payments.

  • Provide remittance and correction information to servicers.

  • Monitor and analyze pooled loans to determine non-compliance.

  • Communicate information to investors.

  • Evaluate servicer performance to ensure compliance with stated agreements.

  • Participate in system enhancements by attending user groups and testing.

  • Communicate processing exceptions relevant to similar series across individual portfolios.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of Collateral, Securities, Default, or Trust Administration.

  • Train junior staff and review their processing and reconciliations.

  • Propose and implement automated solutions on an ongoing basis.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel (Formulas, Pivot Tables, V Look Up, and more).

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Business, or related field.

  • Preferably 1+ year in Financial Services (including internship experience).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in business analysis and data interpretation.

  • Strong analytical skills in finance and data analysis.

Work Environment

The work environment is extremely team-oriented and deadline-driven, requiring analyses to be completed at certain points during the month, which may require overtime. The role offers a hybrid flexible schedule with some training on-site and large team meetings monthly on-site. The environment is task-based and supports growth opportunities upward through the organization. Remote flexibility is provided unless a large conference or team meeting is scheduled in Columbia, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
