AT&T Business Operations Manager (Government) in Columbia, Maryland

RIS I is the delivery of regional IT services to the end user. We offer support of end user devices including desktop, workplace peripherals, and voice and video devices. We support local and campus area networks, including wireless and cable plant.

AT&T has an opening for a Business Operations Manager to support a large DoD program.

The job duties of the Ops Business Manager are as follows:

  • Reporting to the business unit AVP, the Associate Director leads, mentors, and trains a team of staff to perform purchasing, month end close responsibilities, customer reporting, and invoice processing.

  • Supports the monthly closing requirements to include revenue recognition, cost and expense reporting, P&L, and balance sheet. Manages responses to external and internal audit requests.

  • Manages all program purchasing, applying correct accounting and evaluating need. Oversees and reports annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and associated financial analysis.

  • Maintains an efficient cost control system, which monitors and controls contractual direct costs and associated indirect costs including WBS structure management and margin analysis.

  • Tracks capital asset financing agreements. Prepares reports and presents findings and recommendations to management.

  • Works closely with all program and business unit stakeholders (including staffing, technical operations, asset management, and program management) to ensure collaboration and consistency.

  • Assist in program contract actions including documentation review, from-by-to evaluation, etc. Monitors/reports on business performance at multiple levels and in response to ad hoc reporting.

  • Responsible for all assigned direct program pricing requests and ad hoc assistance for pricing and proposal efforts supporting other internal programs. Proactive communication of actual or potential trends and materiel events.

  • Participates in the strategic planning of the business unit, opportunity assessment, teaming decisions and investment business cases.

  • This is a supervisory job with responsibility to plan and apportion work of employees including interviewing, selecting, training, recommending the setting and adjusting of rates of pay and hours of work, coaching and assessing performance, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory policy.

Required Clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph. (#ts/sci) (#polygraph)

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field. Fifteen (15) years experience with financial planning, analysis and operations in government contracting setting - with at least five (5) years in a supervisory or managerial role. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Excellent project management/leadership skills. Excellent desktop skills (Excel, PowerPoint, MS Access). Requires strong knowledge and experience with FAR, CAS and GAAP compliance.

Our Business Operations Manager (Government) earns between $98,100 - $245,000 yearly. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
