Job Description:

VTC/AV Engineer

Transform technology into opportunity as a VTC/AV Engineer with GDIT. At GDIT a VTC/AV Engineer provides operational leadership and oversight of transitioning solutions and changes to optimize service and implementing N&NC technical roadmap.

The Information Technology (IT) Enterprise Services (NITES) program effort is in direct support of North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD)/United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM).

NORAD is a United States and Canada bi-national organization charged with the missions of aerospace warning, aerospace control and maritime warning for North America. Aerospace warning includes the detection, validation, and warning of attack against North America whether by aircraft, missiles, or space vehicles, through mutual support arrangements with other commands. NITES provides a full spectrum of enterprise IT services and management. Services provided will implement, among other DoD initiatives, zero trust at every level.

HOW A VTC TECHNICIAN IV WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Provides HW/SW engineering for enterprise VTC and AV solutions and related systems.

• Designs, installs, configures, and maintains COTS software and Government furnished A/V and VTC hardware.

• Configures equipment and provides on-site equipment installation, equipment diagnosis and repair, and usage monitoring for N&NC VTC rooms.

• Provides support in planning, scheduling, and running of video bridging and video teleconferences services, including Video over IP, Firewall Traversal solutions, and streaming video conferences on the internet.

• Monitors system performance and capacity status; assesses impact of LAN/WAN circuits on the video conferencing services.

• Provides on-site video conferencing, AV, and broadcast support.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

● Education: Associates of Arts/Associates of Science

● Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience

● Appropriately certified for their designated role in accordance with DoD 8140.01. Possesses a DoD 8140.01 approved baseline certification or higher.

● Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI

● Location: Peterson SFB, CO

●US Citizenship Required

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $29.11 - $48.61. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
