Focus on the Family Talent Acquisition Specialist I in Colorado Springs, Colorado

The Talent Acquisition Specialist position exists to develop recruitment sources as well as interview, test, and select new staff (paid and volunteer) who meet the required qualifications and whose values are compatible with the values of Focus on the Family.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Works with department leadership to help determine the appropriate type of staff to meet immediate needs (i.e., regular, volunteer, temporary)

  • Coordinates appropriate web site advertising promoting the various staff opportunities at Focus on the Family

  • Assists departments in preparing volunteer opportunities and descriptions

  • Plans and coordinates talent acquisition programs

  • Prepares job postings and recruitment information

  • Develops and places ads in appropriate media

  • Utilizes appropriate social media to connect with various audiences to meet staffing needs

  • Reviews and evaluates applications for ministry fit and appropriate assignment

  • Conducts preliminary interview referring selected candidates to the hiring authority

  • Provides overview of FOF policies, procedures, and philosophy to prospective staff

  • Participates and/or coordinates promotional activities for talent acquisition

  • Conducts reference checks

  • Makes offers and establishes report dates

  • Coordinates internal transfer requests

  • Provides career advising

  • Participates in New Talent Orientation events for regular, temp, and/or volunteer staff

  • Conducts exit interviews

  • Maintains relationship with current contingent staff to keep them abreast of Focus activities and information

  • Participates in the planning and execution of contingent staff appreciation and training events

    Other Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conducts informational briefings

  • May be required to host New Hire orientation on a rotating basis

  • Performs other duties as assigned

    This role is considered a Spokesperson for Focus on the Family and should represent Focus’ position and tone at all times

    Knowledge/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Personnel Management, or Industrial Relations (or equivalent experience)

  • 2-4 years Human Resources experience

  • Working knowledge of FOF mission, philosophy, values, and objectives

    Skills, Abilities, and Special Talents/Gifts:

  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Competent in use of computer hardware and software

  • Ability to do routine planning

  • Strong analytical skills (to extract information and draw conclusions)

  • Discretion in handling confidential information

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adjust priorities

  • Ability to work independently

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

    Pay Range: $20.00 to $23.00/hr
