A Brief Summary of This Position:
The Senior Director Telecom Structures is responsible for the execution of the division goals through the creation and maintenance of the product strategy as well as the management of the profitability of the assigned product lines. This position will provide leadership specifically for the Small Cell, Macro, and Camouflage Structure Product Lines, managing a leader in each area. The incumbent will manage the vision for growth and profitability of the product lines, requiring combining primary and secondary research and feedback from sales, business development, operations and external market resources.
In this role, the Senior Director Telecom Structures primary responsibilities are to manage the product development, including measurements which determine product demand, positioning, and profitability. This position serves as a strategic member of the Telecom senior staff. Specific duties will include business case justification, market modeling, pricing policy recommendations, competitive analysis, capability analysis, market position analysis, and market intelligence for the new product development team. The Senior Director of Telecom Structures will be a steward for the associated product lines throughout North America.
Essential Functions:
This position reports to the President of Global Solar & Telecom.
This role requires up to 20% travel, including overnight stays, or up to 40% if not based in the Colorado Springs area.
Establishes the product plan / strategy and roadmap in support of the divisional strategy.
Manage the Telecom product lines ensuring that critical tasks are given priority.
Establishes the product plan / strategy and roadmap in support of the divisional strategy.
Identify the business and operational requirements based upon customer needs and market feedback.
Develops the new product introduction plan based on voice of the customer input and market research.
Analyze the customer detail and market potential to provide product forecast guidance.
Responsible for achieving product-segment target results including revenue, profitability and market share.
Analyze the competitive landscape determining market capacity and provide guidance on margins and lead times
Provide margin and lead time guidance to Project Administration team.
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Bachelor’s with 10+ years relevant experience or Associates Degree with 12+ years relevant experience or 15+ years of relevant experience.
Prior Product Line Management experience with a track record of consistent and exemplary achievement.
Demonstrated mathematical aptitude, exceptional financial acumen.
Decisive problem-solving ability and capability to assess people and situations with accuracy.
Highly motivated, competitive, and entrepreneurial individual with a desire to tackle challenging opportunities.
Must be able to effectively and persuasively present complex information in a simple way to executive level audiences.
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Business or Engineering.
Telecom Industry Experience.
Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. 20%-40% travel requirements for this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
